COVID Vaccination Boosters Available for Targeted Populations within Central Health

May 6, 2022 - Central Health would like to remind those who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 Vaccination Second Booster there is a minimum waiting period of 20 weeks between the first and second booster dose. Anyone booking an appointment for a Second Booster dose prior to the 20-week waiting period will be ineligible and have to rebook.

COVID-19 Vaccination Second Booster appointments are available for targeted populations as below:

  • Adults 70 years of age and over;

  • All residents living in long-term care or other senior congregate living facilities;

  • Individuals 18 years of age and older that identify as Indigenous or live in remote/isolated communities.

COVID -19 Vaccination First Booster appointments are now available for children 12-17 years of age. It is important to note that the interval for first booster dose is a minimum of 22 weeks from primary series completion. There will be no availability for walk-ins so individuals are encouraged to book an appt by clicking here or calling 1-833-961-3749.

You should not schedule an appointment for vaccine if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Instead, complete a COVID-19 Assessment and referral by clicking here.

While waiting for your opportunity for vaccination, and after vaccination, it is important for everyone to continue to follow public health guidance to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your communities including:

  • Wearing a mask in public

  • Washing your hands frequently

  • Respecting public health guidance on gatherings, travel and quarantine

  • Completing the online self-assessment at https://www.811healthline.ca/ or calling 811 if you are experiencing one or more symptoms of COVID-19 to arrange testing.
