Limited visitor restrictions implemented at Central Health long-term care facilities

December 16, 2021

Central Health wishes to advise that effective immediately, limited visitor restrictions of two visitors at a time per patient/resident is in place for every Central Health long-term care facility and personal care home throughout the Central Newfoundland region.

The Provincial Government has put these extra precautions in place to protect those who are most vulnerable from viral and respiratory illness such as COVID-19.

Please note that while only two visitors can visit at a time, these are not dedicated visitors. Different people are able to visit.

Visitor screening is still in place. Palliative care visitations will be determined in collaboration with families and the care team.

Emergency department services and scheduled outpatient appointments are not affected.

Individuals requiring information about their loved ones should phone the appropriate nursing unit.

Central Health would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation at this time.
